The general game includes the popular species such as Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest, Nyala, Kudu, waterbuck, Impala, Klipspringer, Duiker, Warthog and Jackal. But one also gets some special species such as Sharpes Grysbok, Eland, Brown Hyena, and Sable. Hippo and Crocodile also live along the Olifants River. There are 5 dams in the reserve, of which three have bird hides. The reserve also boasts the most scenic picnic sites.

The reserve is 50km on road from our closest town, Hoedspruit and located North East on the Northern Bank of the Olifants. There is a good network of roads around the reserve for game viewing and Lissataba allows walking and cycling. There is good security and internet accessibility.
